Rag Rugs
Rag rugs also have been woven here for many years. Traditionally these were spun rags, and then are woven on a cotton warp in a weft-faced weave like most of the rest of our tradition. But there is almost nobody who spins rags any more. These rag rugs are woven by Sandy Voss, who has been making a name for herself as a rag rug weaver for many years in this area. These are woven of Pendleton Wool Mill selvedges, and are very thick and comfortable for bare feet. Sometimes you can see patterns emerge from these rugs as they are woven, and you can see them easily here in the thumbnail images.
