ChimayoWeavers.com is the web site
for Centinela Traditional Arts in Chimayo, New Mexico. The weaving
gallery is owned by Irvin and Lisa Trujillo, who are award-winning
weavers whose work has been shown in, and collected by, museums
across the United States, including the Smithsonian. The tapestry
gallery and this website also represent several other talented
weavers as well, all weavers living here in our area. You can
see all of our work by browsing the website. Take a look at
the catalog, and all of its categories: to see blanket weight
weavings for the wall or for your furniture, and look at our
selection of handwoven rugs, vests, and coats. Learn about the
tradition we all work in, and the techniques involved.
Over the years a variety of products have
developed from the original Rio Grande blanket. We produce a
wide variety of sizes of blanket and rug weight pieces, vests,
coats, jackets and purses. We also carry books, including one
that we have published called "Unfolding Tradition: The
Centinela Weavers of New Mexico" Feel free to browse
through the one-of-a-kind textiles. We hope you enjoy the
experience.
